Is it normal for a teenager to feel a poping senstation behind the nipple? I was about 12-13 years old when this happened, and wonder what might have caused this?

I assume you mean a popping sensation? (The word "poping") had something to do with the head of the Catholic faith! I assume you also mean "nipples", not somehting similar to the famous city in Italy!
But spelling aside, you need information to respond to the understanding. It is the sense explode when pressure is exerted, or simply no apparent reason during the day? At the temperature plays a role - what happens in the cold and heat conditions? "
My impression is that there are some small pockets of air or fluid sensation in the region. It would not be as "harmful" if there is no greater pain or discomfort. I suspect that when you were younger, and today is no longer the feeling is a problem. If so, I would not worry me harm, but not mentioning her doctor, they test the next time.
